Naked Man in Whitehall shows us humanity

A pic I found - how could he have been dangerous? - It is pure humanist art!
I was actually witnessing it as it happened: On approaching from Trafalgar Square, we initially walked freely. We stood close to the statue and the man who then started to take off his last remaining item of clothing (black underpants) the Police started to FORCE the spectators back, although the naked man was evidently unarmed and harmless. The Police were barking out orders to move on and that we had no business here. Mounted Police were also "driving" the spectators back. Very nasty experience, when we were watching a defenceless, naked man. The cordon was driven further and further back, to all of Whitehall. All the naked man did was, to actually make us laugh in appreciation and show that there is life in Cameron's corporate lands: Government cuts are destroying all "lifeblood", and to see this was reminder for both "humanity" (the climber) and seeing that we live in a State of fear and private capital corporatism. Thank you for a day with a difference.

And look at the law! Awful!

cycling in London compared to Berlin

Cycling in London is dangerous, as there are not many cycle lanes throughout the capital that are safe to use:
Cycle paths either appear suddenly and end as sudden as they appear, or they are next to parking bays for cars, leaving cyclists exposed to opening car doors across the cycle paths, or cyclists have to content with motorbikes, taxies and buses in bus lanes where -at junctions- there is a sudden left turn for cars / vans, and they veer off into the (previously safe-ish) bus/cycle lane to turn. I have seen cycle paths outside London that end to cross a busy, multi lane 'A' road with no traffic signals to protect the cyclist.  As a cyclist myself, I find it criminal that people like Cameron and Johnson harp on about the need to create and promote growth/business at all cost, detrimental to both environment and social responsibility, rather than looking at real people and cycling is one of them.

Power-assisted steering, the use of mobile phones whilst driving and sat navs have created new careless drivers.

In more aware countries, like the Netherlands and Germany, cycling is promoted, encouraged and nurtured.  Hopefully with news like the BBC  attitudes will change in London (the UK?)

NO ! to NHS changes made by millionaires

Fed up with Con-Dem pro millionaire shutting down of NHS in England.  The Libs should be ashamed of betraying their voters and must rebel against this change.
I am fed up with some right-wing reactionist politicians (yes, reactionist, as this is a reversion back to Victorian days, when only the rich could afford good health care and doctors).  Cameron claims he'd "give people CHOICE":  Yes, the choice to receive inferior treatment if they cannot pay for it.
And where is the "United" in this Kingdom, if Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales have a well structured NHS, when Cameron decide to take England into the dark ages?  I hope that
quite a few take Cameron before the European Court of Human Rights for denying ordinary people their livelihoods.
It can only be hoped that the coalition founders and new elections follow suit.

economy based on banks and homeowenership will fail

An economy, based on deregulation (i.e. "free market economy"), lending for profit (banks) and home-ownership (mortgages) will fail in the long run, with the high level of debt preventing any reasonable movement.
This government penalises the elderly, the ordinary worker and anyone in the public sector, for that it refuses to ease inflation, refuses to regulate (i.e. state-control banks and certain industry) and encourages that silly system of indebting oneself to the hilt to buy an overpriced house.
Madness!
Look at Germany: Exports at an all time high, even that close to a world wide recession. Why? They have a huge property rental market, with home ownership the exception. There are no greedy property developers ("buy-to let" stinks and should be illegal), and the state interferes carefully in industry (so profits are still there but equally, social responsibility is shown.

What has Britain got? Millionaires running the country, and the list of billionaires has recovered! whoopee-doo!

interest rates low??? bol - l -ocks!

We do not need to make the rich richer!
We need more social housing!
We need fewer cars,
We need more trains and railways.
We don't need "Academies" sponsored by private consortia!
We need proper centralised, FREE, education for all,
so the new generation can vote freely and with their own
minds, rather than a corporatist one.
We need good, healthy food for all.
We need a free centralised NHS for all.
We need to support the nurses, the Army, the poor,
the disadvantaged.

Month I - Day X - the year is the eightth in the second Millenium

Good Day to you all (New Year Podcast HERE. My computer blew up,
so limited as to what I can write. Nothing much seems to have happened
in the UK since I have been on holidays to Germania.

Firstly: HIGHLY Recommended: LUST, CAUTION (R18). Fantastic,
gritty drama about Chinese students in
1942 who believe in a cause,
and suffer the consequences. VERY good 157 minutes!!!

Back to Britain, Conservatives are rambling on about stupid ideas about
the welfare state (= how to successfully widen the gap between
rich and poor even further by cutting already low benefits).
And Labour continue to destroy the last bit of welfare state
that remains (by further PFI's and rubbish like that).
Why? Oh why does the population not go on a General Strike??
Everyone is so lulled in by the promise of money! We only
live once, so what are possessions? Nothing (you can't take
them with you!).
And at the next General Election: Don't just sit at home and
refuse to vote. Do the opposite: VOTE!!! This is you one chance
to really make changes! Vote Green or Socialist or ANY other
party but Con-Labour! The effect will be immediate! A 90%
turnout at the ballot box with both mainstream parties voted
out would be the solution and the impetus for them to rethink
they anti-social and anti-democratic policies! We are in danger
of turning into a Police State comparable to Germany in 1933/5.

There endeth my plea. :-)

did you know...

that I think, we should introduce a little more socialism
to Britain! Good, basic foods FOR ALL (not just the few!)
cheap and good quality public transport throughout Britain,
ditch all this waste of money on anti-terrorism, instead give
people incentives to be proud! Give people real incentives
to work, (and stop advertising cheap and nasty £3 per hour
vacancies in Government job Centres!
Get a house to make it your home, NOT to sell it on!
Distribute wealth to EVERYone in Britain, not just the
few rich city ....(swear word here to be inserted!)
