blue moon, eclipses and the end of the noughties

Firstly, the noughties
are finished
- in with
the "tens"! Did you go
out
with a bang?
We sincerely hope so,
as this is the
only way
to culminate
in the end
of a decade.
We also came
to have a blue moon
NYE, so I used blue
here. Did you know that
a
blue moon occurs
when there is a full
moon twice in a
calendar month.

But the moon was not blue either
though it was very much eclipsed (well very much partially). And this
morning, it set opposite as to where the sun rose. So, is this an omen
or what? "Blue" moon, eclipse, full moon and the end of a decade...

Therefore, just for the record, I took a few snaps of last nights'
event, amongst all the banging and exciting exultations:

At last - something nice!

Great stuff from the creator of the Angel of the North in London:
Anthony Gormley commissioned the temporary one hour displays
on the 4th plinth at Trafalgar Square. By accident, I was there.
A few pix HERE.
Also some street art in progress:

vernal equinox and heavenly bodies:

Greetings to you out there!
With BST fast approaching (sounds like BSC -
I'd certainly give sour milk with these pointless
changing of the clocks - TAKE NOTE:
time is a concept to fit human grasp of an ever expanding universe that collapses into itself into the our feeble brains)
In any case: I managed to take two interesting
shots recently. One of the full moon through my
window, and the other. more by accident, must
have been Venus sporting a crescent! Well done,
old girl!

spider spider, spin your web!

spider, spider, spin your web:
make it big and strong;
catch the insects, catch them all!
so they don't bite 'n do me wrong!

bumble bee, bumble bee,
bumbeling along:
catching nectar all so sweet;
there's finishing my song!

The British Summer: in London

THREE days of heat
turn a city of concrete
into a stifling and sizzling
furnace; with people complaining
about the never ending heat!

FOUR days of rain follow
and their comments so hollow:
argue that it does "nothing but rain";
oh dear: What a forgetful brain!

NOW the nights are drawing in
and the shouts do begin:
"double summertime now:
we will never bow
to the constraints of universe!"
"What phallacy", I say: "just live
and enjoy what we are given!"

another poem (tubelines or metronet?)

Rattle, rattle, there she goes:
with hundred-twenty people.
The tracks are old, the tiredness shows
not just on trains but in people's faces;
as if in Ascot on the races -
or competing in some sport:
round and round and shove and push:
everyone's seems in a rush!
Undeterred, the doors will open, shut again at haste:
no, I can say, this is not to everybody's taste.
Rattle, rattle, there she goes,
deeper in the tunnel.
Can you see the end of it?
or are you stuck? - inmidst of people shoving
Are you ready for the exit...?

little poem (down the tube?)

desperately texting on their blackberrys;
as the city lies in ruins:

"Nine lives I had, and all used up" - says
the text...

In posh city suits their pretentious habits
fuelled by the poorest

MAJORITY - You few fat cats, too,
WILL feel the crunch and crash!
