On 17th June, firefox achieved the single biggest download of
software EVER. You can still download your copy of this freeware
FIREFOX 3.X. Even "auntie" passed comment on this feat!
NB: over 10m downloads!! (see map above). By the way, I am using
Crystal Fox Modern 2.0 theme, which looks beautiful. And the speed
at which firefox 3 works
is very good indeed. Found the autosuggestions
(includes bookmarks!!) very useful.

Here the reason, mozilla was so slow yesterday
(as per vunet):
"Mozilla's attempt to set a world download record
with the release of Firefox 3has caused a flood of
traffic and a dramatic slowdown of its servers.
The company kicked off the effort at 10am Pacific
time on Tuesday, officially releasing Firefox 3 to
the public and starting the clock on the 24-hour
race to a Guinness World Record for the most
number of downloads in a single day.
Within an hour of the launch, however, a huge load
of user traffic was threatening to sink the effort.
Mozilla said that, at its peak, traffic for the new
browser hit 14,000 downloads a minute.
